Read the reviews! We were worried they were too good to be true, but they are accurate, the 5 stars and all of the accolades are 100% deserved. You will not be disappointed. Janet and Philip are delightful and warm hosts who are helpfully present, but never intrusive. The chateau feels like a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but also very grounded and hospitable thanks to the attention to detail and modern comforts -- fully stocked kitchens including breakfast and snack items, water and wine. The area is stunning, with a charming walk right from the front door into a typical small village and along the river. French markets in nearby villages. And the most charming restaurant 15 minutes away, with an outdoor terrace overlooking the countryside specializing in perfectly cooked steak and other meats sourced locally, reasonably priced to boot! We are already planning a return visit, with hopes that friends can join us so they too can enjoy this wonderful find.
